Allegro MicroSystems launches most advanced transmission speed sensor ICs

Manchester, NH— Allegro MicroSystems has announced the release of its most advanced transmission speed sensor family members. These devices have been developed in accordance with ISO 26262:2011 as a hardware safety element out of context with ASIL B capability (pending assessment) for use in automotive safety-related systems when integrated and used in the manner prescribed in the applicable safety manual and datasheet.TheA19520,A19530, andA19570magnetic sensor ICs are the product of nearly 20 years of application-specific experience and technological advancement—including GMR and Hall effect technology—making them ideal for meeting the demanding requirements of today’s transmission applications.

“Until now, there have been no transmission speed sensors available designed to a certified ISO 26262 design process,” explained Peter Wells, Senior Product Line Director for Speed Sensors at Allegro Microsystems. “We’re proud that all three of these speed sensors will be able to advance the state of the art in transmission safety and excited to bring them to market.”

The A19520, A19530, and A19570 magnetic sensor ICs measure speed and direction information and integrate EMC protection capacitors. The sensors also incorporate Allegro's SolidSpeed Digital Architecture™, a groundbreaking mixed-signal architecture that enables the widest dynamic range of air gap, distinction of vibration versus rotation, stray field immunity, and highly adaptive performance.
